Are your qualifications nationally accredited?

PreStart Safety & Training offers a large number of nationally accredited courses as well as some non-accredited.

Can I still use my Blue card, or do I have to upgrade to the new White card?

Across all States and Territories, including here in WA, both the ‘blue’ and ‘white’ types of cards are accepted by the regulatory authority as evidence that induction training has been completed

Is the Blue/White card a pre-requisite to complete training?

No, Blue/White card is not a pre-requisite for any of our courses.

How do I pay for my course?

A minimum 50% deposit is required within 24 hours of booking to confirm your position. The remaining balance is then due on the morning of the course. Payments can be made in person (cash and EFTPOS available), via credit card over the phone or bank transfer. If you choose to pay by bank transfer, we will need a copy of the transfer confirmation so we can locate the payment once received.

How long after my course will I receive my certification?

You will receive the certification upon successful course completion (unless payment has not been made.) If the course is completed at your workplace, it may take up to 10 business days to be processed and sent out.

I’ve lost my certification previously done with PreStart Safety and Training. Can I have a replacement certificate re-issued?

Yes, a replacement certificate will be reissued free of charge.

Is there a minimum age I have to be to attend one of your courses?

WorkSafe requires all participants to be a minimum of 18 years of age to be able to complete any high risk courses. Non high risk courses do not have any age restrictions.

What is a USI (Unique Student Identifier) and how do I obtain one?

From 1 January, 2015 each student will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to obtain their certificate or qualification from their Registered Training Organisation (RTO), when completing nationally recognised training in Australia. A USI gives you access to your online USI account and you will be able to view all your training records in the one place. To obtain a USI you will need to visit the website www.usi.gov.au and click on create USI. You will need your identification to create a USI. Once you have your USI, keep it in a safe place as you will need to provide it to your RTO every time you complete training.

What is your cancellation policy?

Fees are payable in full, prior to course commencement, irrespective of the training course outcome and before a Statement of Attainment or Record of Attendance will be issued. A learner may withdraw from a training course prior to commencement, by providing three (3) business days written notice, In this instance; a full refund will be applicable or one free transfer to a suitable date, free of charge. If the learner withdraws within the three (3) days cancellation period, 50% of the total course cost will be applied. The learner will, as an alternative option, be given the opportunity to transfer to another course date, within the following month. No further transfers will be applied. If a learner fails to register or cancels on the day of training, no refund will be given.
